The latest information on Kyushu Kouatsu

To the media October 1, 2024 Kyushu High Pressure Co., Ltd.

Regarding participation in "Renewable Energy 100% Declaration Re Action" and "Offsetting CO2 Emissions from Disposal of LP Gas Containers", Kyushu Koatsu Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minamikyushu City, Kagoshima Prefecture, CEO: Takuya Yamada) has received environmental consulting from Fuji Gas Co., Ltd. (Head office: Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, CEO: Iiichi Tsuda) and has become the first service industry in Kagoshima Prefecture to participate in "Renewable Energy 100% Declaration RE Action" (※1). This is the fourth participation in Kagoshima Prefecture and the first in Minamikyushu City.
The "RE Action: 100% Renewable Energy Declaration" is a framework that aims to achieve 100% renewable energy electricity consumption, and 386 organizations (*2), including local governments and companies from all over Japan, are participating.

We are also working with RE100, an international initiative targeted at companies with annual power consumption of 50GWh or more. Our goal is to contribute to climate change measures and realize a sustainable society by promoting the introduction of renewable energy among organizations both in Japan and overseas.

As part of our environmental initiatives, we have been disclosing our in-house solar power generation and our CO2 emissions under Scope 1 and 2 (*4) on our website (*5). In addition, for our main business of LP gas container re-inspection, we utilize the FCN platform (Fuji Gas Carbon Neutral Platform (*6)), which provides total support from procuring carbon credits and carbon offsetting from Fuji Gas Co., Ltd., as well as promotional support, and provide "CN (Carbon Neutral) Re-Inspection Containers (*7)" as a service menu for customers, which offset the CO2 emissions emitted from the work process to delivery.
Furthermore, our company has been certified as a 2024 Health and Productivity Management Excellent Corporation and has a business continuity enhancement plan, and we aim to create a sustainable workplace.

This time, the company has newly utilized the FCN platform to offset the CO2 emitted from the disposal of LP gas containers. The CO2 generated from the disposal of approximately 20,000 LP gas containers between August 1, 2023 and July 31, 2024 was offset by 30t-CO2 carbon credits created by the local Kagoshima Eco Fund "Minna, Mirokuaru Minamikyushu Green Town Eco Project" (*8), and 56t-CO2 J-Credits from energy conservation certified by the government, resulting in a total reduction of 86t-CO2.
Going forward, the company plans to actively introduce renewable energy sources for its annual electricity usage of approximately 170,000 kWh, with the aim of achieving 100% renewable energy by 2030.

By promoting renewable energy management, we will contribute to reducing CO2 emissions in all business activities and to reducing CO2 emissions from our business partners, thereby contributing to CO2 reduction not only in the LP gas industry but throughout society.
